A Luxury Eyewear Brand Inspired by Time and Space

COLONS has been inspired by the moments that time and space make. Their purpose is to present people the moments COLONS has found. The brand naming stems from the colon(:), the symbol logo stems from the shape of the hour and minute hand. COLONS' fonts and patterns are visualized using twelve angles of the clock index. These indexes are used to express a 'time lock' on the front of eyewear. The 'time lock' refers to a specific time, which is the name of the eyewear, like 07:25. 'Time lock' is an important element for expressing COLONS brand identity.

COLONS is a luxury eyewear brand that stands out from the crowd. The brand name, COLONS, is derived from the colon(:), which is also the symbol logo representing the shape of the hour and minute hand. This unique design element sets COLONS apart from other eyewear brands in the market.

What makes COLONS truly special is the way they incorporate the concept of time into their brand identity. The design team behind COLONS, Byoengchan Oh and Chihyun Son, have successfully overcome the challenge of communicating the brand experience of time and space to customers. The COLONS brand identity project started in August 2017 and was completed in September 2018 in Seoul. The finished design was exhibited at Kintex in South Korea. The project received the Bronze A' Design Award in 2019, recognizing its outstanding creativity and ingenuity in incorporating the concept of time and space into a luxury eyewear brand.

COLONS is a testament to the power of design to create unique and meaningful experiences. By combining art, architecture, design, innovation, and technology, COLONS has created a brand that not only offers stylish eyewear but also captures the essence of beautiful moments in time.
